Alex Pacheco is an accomplished creative designer and filmmaker who loves solving problems through innovation and technology.

During the 1990s he studied at the University of Maryland, where he fell in love with the art of creating visually compelling imagery inspired by New Wave, Bauhaus, and 1960s experimental films.  He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Radio/Television/Film.

After graduating, he worked at a lighting rental house in Washington DC, and joined the Motion Pictures Union, IATSE Local 487.  He gained valuable on-set film production experience, working on big budget features and TV shows such as the Transformer movies, SALT, Ladder 49, Enemy of the State, The West Wing, and the HBO series the Wire.

Early on in his career, he produced his first feature film called PRAXIS which won the DC Filmmaker Award at the DC Independent Film Festival.  With haunting and beautiful visuals, the Washington Post compared the film to the works of David Lynch, Luis Buñuel, and Bela Tarr.  After touring the festival circuit, the film was later picked up for international distribution by Ariztical Entertainment.

In 2012, he established his company canflip | media | design where he was hired as a creative director, along with offering graphic design, 3D and motion design services.  His clients included companies such as CNN, MSNBC, The Brookings Institution and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.  He produced promotional videos for ATLAS Bootcamps DC, Kim Cameron and Side FX, and music videos for Telegraph Melts, The Out_Circuit, Kerosene 454 and TRANSCONA.

After moving to New York City in 2014, he joined the world’s largest tech company, working at the Genius Bar at a large flagship store.  He gained a deep understanding of the company’s hardware and software, ethos and brand, and was eventually tasked to lead and train other team members on how to become geniuses.

After moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, he continued his career on the corporate side: as an Instructional Designer producing engaging training content for its employees, and as a Communications Designer producing internal communications and marketing.

Alex is currently working as a UI/UX Designer at the world’s largest tech company, developing and design visually compelling user interfaces for Web based and iOS applications, while upholding the highest brand standards and design aesthetics.

Alex is always seeking new ways to challenge himself and develop new skills, while utilizing his creativity and technical expertise.
